Friends House
North Forest Project
For more than 50 years, Friends House has been proud to serve seniors in Sandy Spring, Olney, and the surrounding Montgomery County community. Founded on Quaker values of stewardship, simplicity, and mutual respect, Friends House has long provided a place where older adults can live with independence, purpose, and connection.
OUR VISION
As the needs of seniors evolve, so too must the campus that supports them. Friends House is advancing a Major Modification to its existing Special Exception that would allow us to relocate and consolidate previously approved independent living residences to the northern portion of our campus, an area referred to as the North Forest Project.
Importantly, this proposal does not increase the total number of independent living units already approved by Montgomery County. Instead, it adjusts how and where those previously approved residences are built so that the campus can better meet today’s needs while remaining financially sustainable for the future.
Our goal is to ensure that Friends House can continue serving the community for the next 50 years and beyond.
